For over 30 years, Michael has advised strategic acquirers, private equity sponsors, and institutional investors on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and growth investments. His work spans multiple industries including life sciences, fintech, and financial services, where he helps clients structure and close transactions. From early-stage capital raises to billion-dollar transactions, his focus always remains the same: creating durable, long-term value.

Michael brings a unique perspective on solving client problems, drawing on his in-house experience as General Counsel and EVP of a large metals producer.  He understands firsthand the operational, financial, and strategic pressures businesses face, enabling him to align legal strategy with clients’ growth objectives and long-term success – from startup to exit.

Michael’s counsel extends well beyond the signing table. He regularly advises boards and management teams on corporate governance, securities regulation, and restructurings. He negotiates complex shareholder arrangements and represents both creditors and debtors in recapitalizations and distressed acquisitions, offering clear-eyed guidance in both growth and high-pressure situations.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, Michael has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America. He previously held leadership roles at several prominent firms and remains deeply engaged in civic life, having served on nonprofit boards including the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund and Friends of the High Line.

Early in his career, he clerked for the Hon. John F. Dooling, Jr of the Eastern District of New York.
