Caitlin Hyland is a Patent Agent at Bochner PLLC and an intellectual property practitioner with deep expertise in cell and molecular biology.

Her practice focuses on life science patent prosecution, where she strategically manages patent portfolios, prepares and prosecutes domestic and international patent applications, and assists clients with invalidity, noninfringement, patentability, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) assessments.

Caitlin has drafted over 100 patent applications and has extensive experience responding to U.S. and foreign Office Actions. She also supports clients with landscape searching and IP due diligence reviews. Her technical experience spans a broad range of fields, including gene editing, diagnostics, antibodies, vaccines, and gene therapies related to cancers, metabolic disorders, and viral infections.

Caitlin earned her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Lehigh University. Her doctoral research focused on the effects of aberrant cell communication on cardiovascular development. As an undergraduate, she worked on developing a gene editing system using CRISPR/Cas9.
